"Wychwood Park is a relatively new course - it opened
in 2002.
It is quite an unusual setting, as we have several sensitive areas around
the course - in particular a designated Site of Botanical Interest and
a number of protected habitats for water voles and freshwater crayfish.
Obviously we are very conscious that applying synthetic products may harm
the surrounding vegetation, particularly as it runs alongside the fairways.
I wanted to introduce a product that would populate the bacteria in the
soil, encourage root growth and retain healthy playing surfaces - and
all while ensuring that we look after the protected flora and fauna.
By introducing a liquid organic feed to the fairways, I feel that I am
meeting all of these objectives and more. Firstly, Porthcawl is kind to
nearby wildlife and looks set to have the desired soil conditioning effect.
Furthermore, it is enabling me to establish a balance management regime
at the Club while it remains in its youthful stages. I think this is really
important as, in my opinion, taking a balanced approach to turf care is
the most effective method of greenkeeping. Creating a natural balance
between synthetic and organic products stops the effects of single product
overload - which often works in reverse by weakening defences and ultimately
inducing disease.
Results speak for themselves, so I will continue to monitor the effects
that Porthcawl has on the fairways - although we have already seen a lot
of top growth and root development in the early stages. I can see it becoming
a regular feature in my turf care regime, simply because it does exactly
what it says and produces real and lasting results."
“I am a great believer in traditional methods of
course management but am always trying to incorporate modern technology
where appropriate. Farmura’s range gives me consistent results. The Flo
Grow use on our U.S.G.A. greens on the Bracken Course has given outstanding
results this year.”
“We have used Farmura Products for over 10 years
and are very please with the results.”
“On National Trust common land our use of products
is restricted. Farmura saved our fairways from sheep damage. We now have
root growth, a thicker sward, and less divoting. Our greens have gone
from strength to strength with Farmura as part of the program.”
“I’ve used products from the Farmura range for over
11 years. The consistency of the products together with the ease of application
makes them the obvious choice for our policy of light liquid feeding.
The quality of the products is reflected in the dominance of fine grasses
in our surfaces.”
“We have been using Alginure products since they
were formulated almost 40 years ago – they certainly have stood the test
of time”
“There is no better and natural organic feed on
the market. I would not use anything else.”
“I found the Potash Plus to be the best winter feed
I’ve used, keeping the greens in good colour and helping against anthracnose.”
“Can be used as often as you like – can regulate
growth [nice and even]. Tank mixes easily”
“We use Porthcawl all year round plus two applications
of our own special mix to produce a thicker sward, even cover, nice colour
and better root growth.
We have used Farmura Turf for over 20 years and Porthcawl for 8 years."
“Good overall performance and value for money good
sward, easy application, organic, good results."
“We have been using Farmua Turf on our greens at
Hallamshire for almost 20. There is no doubt that used with other organics
such as seaweed, it has helped to improve the quality of the turf. The
sward is much denser and holds its colour better throughout the year,
reducing our use of conventional fertiliser.”
“Environmentally safe. Just an outstanding product.
The golf club is ISO Registered so they endorse it.”
“I have found the Farmura range to be environmentally
friendly, no gizmos or techno speak, just good, old fashioned common sense
products that have stood the test of time, a bit like those who choose
to use them!!”
"We are delighted with the performance of our pitch
this year following the Eurogreen renovation - it is in the best condition
for many years. The results, particularly The Cup Run, speak for themselves.
We shall be using the System again this year."
"The renovation of The Den pitch, using the Eurogreen
System has been very effective. Black Layer has disappeared, root structure
has improved and the pitch condition has been highly praised both by the
club and TV commentators. It has been a very successful partnership between
ourselves and Farmura and we shall continue to use their services including
the Farmura "vertidraining" at The Den and at the Training Pitches."
